About Burnhamthorpe Medical Centre

Dr. Christina Fung is a Family Physician at Burnhamthorpe Medical Centre. She was born in Toronto and raised in Mississauga. She completed her undergraduate studies in Medical Sciences at Western University. She then completed her Masters in Occupational Therapy at the University of Toronto. She continued to complete her Medical Doctorate at the University of Toronto and finished her residency in Family Medicine at McMaster University. Dr. Fung speaks English and Cantonese. She is passionate about providing comprehensive care and serving the needs of all her patients. Her special interests include working with babies and young families.

Dr. Manson Mak is a Family Physician at Burnhamthorpe Medical Centre. He completed his medical school at the University of Hong Kong. After immigration to Canada, he completed his residency training in Family Medicine and Emergency Medicine at McMaster University. He speaks fluent English, Mandarin, and Cantonese. He enjoys providing primary care to all patients ranging from babies to the elderly. Dr. Mak is married and has two children. Besides working at the clinic, he enjoys reading, table tennis, and playing with his two cats.

Dr. Matthew Got is a Family Physician at Burnhamthorpe Medical Centre. He completed his undergraduate studies in Health Sciences at McMaster University. His Doctor of Medicine was obtained from the University of Toronto and he completed his residency in family medicine at McMaster University. He enjoys providing comprehensive care to his patients ranging from babies to the elderly. He is fluent in both English and Cantonese. Outside of the clinic, he engages in an active lifestyle that includes running, cycling, skiing, and various water sports. Pre-pandemic, he enjoys learning about foreign cultures through trying new foods and backpacking. He is also a proud Torontonian and enjoys catching Toronto Raptors in action.

Dr. Sarah Xu is a Family Physician at Burnhamthorpe Medical Centre. She received her Doctor of Medicine from the McMaster University Michael G. Degroote School of Medicine. She then completed residency training in Family Medicine also at McMaster University. Dr. Xu speaks English and Mandarin. She enjoys providing primary care to patients of all ages and is passionate about preventative medicine. In her free time, she enjoys reading, hiking, and spending time with family.

Dr. Lilian Lee Yan Vivas (née Wong) is a Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation specialist (also known as Physiatrist) consulting at the Burnhamthorpe Medical Centre. She was born in Hong Kong and was raised in Mississauga. She completed her undergraduate studies at the University of Toronto in Biochemistry and Pharmacology, and her Doctor of Medicine degree at the University of Western Ontario. She completed her residency in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at the University of Toronto and is a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians of Canada. Dr. Vivas speaks both English and Cantonese. She provides rehabilitation counseling and care for disabilities including but not limited to muscle, nerve, and bone systems with a special interest in amputation rehabilitation.

Dr. Kelly Sun is a Respirologist consulting at the Burnhamthorpe Medical Centre. She received her Doctor of Medicine from McMaster University and went on to complete her Respirology residency at the University of Ottawa. Subsequently, due to her passion in caring for those with Interstitial Lung Disease (ILD), she then completed an ILD fellowship through the University of Toronto. She is fluent in English and Mandarin. She welcomes all general respirology referrals but does not do sleep or tuberculosis medicine. In her free time, she enjoys walking her dog, socializing with friends, and travelling.

Ms. Kitty Kit Yee Wong, RD is a registered dietitian consulting at Burnhamthorpe Medical Centre. She completed her undergraduate studies in Food & Nutritional Science at the University of Hong Kong & the University of Western Ontario. She then completed her internship at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre. She is now a member of the College of Dietitians of Ontario and Dietitians of Canada. Kitty has been working as a dietitian for over 20 years, in both public and private sectors. She offers medical nutrition therapy (MNT) which helps managing patients’ health conditions and chronic diseases through individualized nutrition assessment and dietary treatment. Her scope of services includes weight management, diabetes, dyslipidemia, hypertension, gout, liver & renal diseases, cancer nutrition, gastrointestinal disorders, anemia, pregnancy and pediatric nutrition. Dr. Malvin Mak is a Family Physician at Burnhamthorpe Medical Centre. He was born and raised in Mississauga. He completed his undergraduate degree in Biochemistry at McMaster University and medical training at St. George's University in Grenada. He completed his residency at Guthrie Robert Packer Hospital in Sayre, Pennsylvania. Dr. Mak speaks English and Cantonese. His interest is in providing comprehensive care to all patients. In his free time, he enjoys going to the gym and playing board game with friends.
